JIT production system is the revolutionary super-efficient production system. Although the JIT philosophy and supporting techniques were developed mostly in Japan, however, it was widely accepted & recognized by the West in term of significant impact on operational efficiency. It would be a fatal mistake to dismiss JIT as a passing fashion. Companies which have embarked on the JIT journey are becoming ‘leaner, stronger and fitter’. Those which have not are doomed to be shaken out in the race to world class performance.
