Today, a lot of organizations are looking for an internationally recognizable, assessable and certifiable Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OHSMS). The Occupational Safety & Health is also to be expected to be compatible with other management systems (such as ISO 9001 & ISO 14001) that the organization already implemented.

The OHSAS 18001:2007 standard was developed by a number of international certification organizations such as BVQI, LRQA, BSI and SGS in response to urgent requirements from those organizations.

This course is designed for safety professional, directors, managers, engineers, executives, supervisors, or anyone who is responsible for the establishment of an Effective Occupational Safety and Health Management System. This practical course combined classroom teaching, practical exercises, group discussion and Harvard-Style case study with actual factory based on project to provide a complete action learning experience. Mr Jason Kum Kah Yong graduated from the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada with a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Mr. Jason Kum is a certified Safety & Health Officer registered with National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Certified QMS (IRCA) & EMS (EARA) Lead Auditor.

Mr Jason Kum has been actively involved in the field of Project Management System since the beginning of his working career.  His earliest industrial attachment was to design & develop new product, develop and implement production control and planning system and provide technical support to marketing projects of new product for the existing and potential customers for a multi national corporation company.

He has also worked in a variety of operational roles and was responsible to develop, implement and maintain the Quality and Environmental Management System for the company.  He led the company to ISO and certification for the company within a span of 2 years time. Based on his tenacious effort, he was promoted to be the Assistant Quality Assurance Department Manager in-charge of 90 over head counts.

In Mr Jason Kum’s tenure as a consultant, he has conducted and developed numerous in-house and public training programs such as Train the trainer, Quality, Environmental and Occupational Safety & Health Awareness training, Internal Quality, Environmental and Occupational Safety & Health Auditing and other Technical Training for more than 5000 trainees.  He is also the company Malaysia national champion for the company to spearhead the product development, training material development and marketing of ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 management system. Based of his extensive involvement in the environmental management system, he was selected as the Assessor for the highest environmental award in Malaysia, the Prime Minister Hibiscus Award.

Mr. Jason Kum was also the President of Toastmaster Club of Malaysia Institute of Management (JB). He has won many best speakers award for his participation in public speaking for the Toastmaster Club. He has been involved in training new toastmasters in presentation skills.
